Freshmen

Use the first year of college to lay the foundation for your undergraduate career.

[ ] Reflect on your priorities and interests.
[ ] Read up on mistakes and misconceptions early as a preventative measure.
[ ] Familiarize yourself with the recruiting process.
[ ] Explore careers in finance that align with your interests.
[ ] Draft an elevator pitch narrative and resume.
[ ] Examine professional development programs and organizations and apply to everything that you are eligible for.
[ ] Begin to network with professionals across industries of interest.
[ ] Find any internship, preferably related to your industry of choice
[ ] Maintain a GPA above 3.5 in order to remain competitive.

Sophomores

Begin to narrow down potential careers and accelerate!

[ ] Seek higher opportunities for year-round and sophomore summer internship.
[ ] Dive deep into interview preparation, mastering most questions you’re likely to encounter.
[ ] Concentrate your networking efforts on specific firms and divisions.
[ ] Dedicate more time to applying for junior year summer opportunities.

Juniors

Breathe a bit during the academic year as you continue to walk forward.

[ ] Persist in recruiting until you’ve secured a role.
- [ ] Continue to network within firm of placement.
[ ] Achieve leadership positions on campus.
[ ] As your coursework becomes more aligned with your major and interests, cultivate stronger relationships with professors to gain valuable insights.
[ ] Grind through the summer and become the best intern in your cohort.

Seniors

Almost done!

[ ] If necessary, wrap up any ongoing commitments from previous years.
[ ] Give back to your school and community; you want to leave anything you touch better than the state you found it in.
[ ] Graduate.
